I define brand as the perception, both emotionally and intellectually, that your audience has of you and your products or services.
So your brand is not what you think and believe about you, it’s what your audience, customers, clients, tribe (call them what you want) think and believe about you and your products or services.
The more active you are in the creation and control of this perception, the more likely your audience will align themselves and understand you and your products or services in the way you want them to, in the way you want to be perceived.
If you don’t take an active role in the creation and management of your brand’s perception, then you are leaving it to chance and hope that you and your brand will be perceived in the way you want to be perceived; not a good idea in my opinion.
Take an active role in every area of your creative business, then you will be positioning yourself and your brand where you want to be, where you belong, not just some random place that you have ended up in.
